Cost and payment

How much does it cost?

The Life Story is $999. That covers three recorded interviews, one review session, and the finished story as a digital download.

Can I get a printed book or a family website?

Yes. Both are extra, and you can add them now or later. We talk through what each one costs on your call, before anything changes.

Why is it called an intro price?

It is our introductory price for The Life Story. Your price is set in writing when you book.

Can I give it as a gift?

Yes. You pay for The Life Story, and we send a printed certificate you can give. See how gifting works.

The process

How long does it take?

We set real dates together in writing before we start, based on your family’s calendar. The three interviews can be weekly or spread out, whatever suits your parent.

Do you use AI?

Yes, as a tool. The interviews are conversations with me. A writing system helps turn the recordings into a draft, and I read and shape every page myself before you see it. The words and the stories stay theirs.

Do you only work in Utah?

I meet in person anywhere from Ogden to Provo. Families anywhere in the United States can do the interviews by video.

What happens in the review session?

We go through the draft together, by video or in person. You tell us what to fix, what to add, and what to leave out. Anything the family adds is marked as family memory.

How is this different from Storyworth?

Storyworth sends weekly questions and your parent writes the answers. The Life Story is done for you: recorded interviews, the writing, and a review session with us. If your parent loves to write, Storyworth may be all you need.

Privacy and ownership

Who owns the story and the recordings?

Your agreement spells out who owns the story, who may publish it, and how the recordings can be used. You sign it before we start.

Who will see it?

Only your family. Living relatives stay private unless they agree otherwise, and you decide who gets the download.

What if my parent gets sick during the project?

Your agreement includes a pause and exit clause. We can stop or wait, and it says in writing what happens next.

Still wondering about something?

Fifteen minutes is usually enough to answer it.
